PAWest Background Check System

As a chartered member of Pennsylvania West Soccer Association, we are required to perform background checks on all coaches who will be in direct contact with children and unsupervised by other adults. We are currently reviewing this policy at the QVRA level as to which adults need to perform this background check and the different ways of conducting such a check. A formal policy will be published prior to the Fall 2011 soccer season.

Until that time, we utilize the PAWest eKids Safe Background Check System. This check requires the coach to pay a $10.35 fee. Any adult that serves in the role of Coach or Assistant Coach for age groups 3rd Grade and over (U09 and above) is required to have a background check performed every two years. It is the current ORVFC policy to reimburse the coach for this fee by crediting their online family profile with the Club. When the volunteer registers for a subsequent program, their fee will be reduced by the $10.35.
