Indoor session II registration OPENS

Introduction

Please review the information below carefully. We have received numerous requests from families asking us to provide specific training focused on technical skill development within a shorter season as an addition or alternative to the league play at the Sportrak. We have added this option to the indoor offerings we are providing.

Please take some time to consider the highlights below and the specific program information on the following page before registering. We are trying to understand what people actually want to do and map the program to those desires. Some players only want to play games. Some do not want to participate through April. Some would like some training but are not fond of the format at the Sportrak. Our current volunteer coaches also need a break. So this is an experiment. We will see how it goes.

Highlights

• REGISTRATION PERIOD – Monday, 11/23/09 thru Wednesday, 12/2/09 at 5:30pm
• HOW TO REGISTER ‐ All registrations will be processed using our online registration tool: http://www.orvfc.org/register.html
• PAYMENT – Do not pay until you receive confirmation that the program will be offered as described below. You will receive confirmation no later than 12/11/09. It is possible that there will not be enough interest to form a team or training session, however, we will communicate with families with different alternatives prior to making any final decisions. Once you receive confirmation, you will need to pay the upcoming session fee and any outstanding balances by 12/18/09.
• LATE REGISTRATIONS – Requests to register after the registration period will be automatically placed on our waitlist. To be placed on the waitlist, send an email to tfelt@orvfc.org and title the subject of your email “ORVFC Waitlist”. The waitlist is a first‐come, first‐served list.
• TRAINING SESSIONS – Our PK, K and 1st graders sessions will be led by volunteer coaches. Our 2nd grade and older training sessions will be led by professional coaches. The sessions are designed to be 6‐8 weeks long and will be held in the Osborne School Gymnasium. Where a session has more than one day or time in 2nd grade or above it means it might be either day or time or both. It all depends on the numbers of interested sign‐ups.
• SPORTRAK MATCHES – Teams will be formed based upon interest and availability of coaches. Please be advised that we depend upon a small subset of volunteer coaches and several have indicated to me that they need to take a break from coaching prior to this spring outdoor season. So if your child really wants to play matches, then please consider taking the role of running the bench for these games and indicate your willingness to volunteer on your Family Contact profile. Also, we will keep the rosters at 12 for most teams so your attendance will be expected week to week.
• MATCHES AND TRAINING – If you want to participate in both the matches and training, you will be expected to pay for both – this is because there will be a specific league fee for the matches in addition to a coach fee for the training. Due to
  lack of available indoor facilities, we do not anticipate there will be much time available for teams that have chosen not to sign‐up for the additional training to do some extra training at Osborne Gym but we will do everything we can to accommodate those requests should they come up.
• LIMITED AVAILABILITY – In certain groups, we will take the first 12 players that sign up. If we have enough to form a second group, we will try and work it into the mix. However, we might not be able to accommodate everyone. If you are anxious to participate, please sign up quickly to reserve your space. The sooner we know what you want to do the easier to adjust the program to accommodate as many as possible.
