Registration - Winter II - Now Open
We are now accepting registrations for the second session of indoor. Registration will end on Wednesday, 12/2/09, at 5:30pm.
Indoor Session Information
Please read through this information carefully before signing-up. There are some specific differences to the past session that you need to be aware of before committing to play.
Please note that indoor activities are very much like outdoor "team-based" matches - your attendance is expected. This is due to the smaller numbers caused by the smaller facilities. In outdoor, when we run a training session we might have 40 players scheduled but only 25 show up due to last minute conflicts, homework, illness, etc. That's OK. We can work with the 25 that are there and we have enough space should all 40 happen to show up. We deliberately designed it this way to take some of the pressure off our families week to week.
When we are indoors the situation is different. We might only have 12 players scheduled (due to the space limitations) but if 6 call off - then it is much harder to conduct the training session.
My personal request to families is that if you plan to ski, swim, play basketball, lacrosse or hockey this coming session and you feel there will be conflicts - then focus on those and give soccer a break. Please don't sign up if you anticipate numerous absences. It will help all those players who do plan to show up each week if we have solid attendance every week. The break might also help your player not grow sick of soccer. Too much of any sport is not good for any player and though we offer year-round soccer we would actually prefer you pick and choose different seasons. Our goal is to make overall community participation large enough so that the program stays vibrant each season but we are serving different groups of children season to season.
Our outdoor 3v3 sessions will start back up in April and the kids who take a break now will get their touch on the ball back very quickly once we get back outdoors.
Happy Thanksgiving.

Registration - Indoor II
This is a notice to all Sentinel participants that we will start registration for Winter Session II on Monday next week (11/23/09). Registration will end on Wednesday, 12/2/09, at 5:30pm.
There will be two options available during this session: a participant can request to play on a team January thru April or the participant can request to participate in training January and February.
The Winter II session is a long one. We often have problems keeping the players committed starting in March. My personal preference is to do some light training for 6 weeks and then give the kids a break in March but wanted to give families the option to indicate what they preferred. I will provide more details about time, days of the week, what the training will entail, cost, who will lead the training when I publish the program options for the next session on Monday.
All decisions by age group will be announced by 12/6/09. So if you want to play this next session, it is imperative for you to register starting next week.
Thanks.
